Launch Pad conducts a variety of research from online surveys
to focus groups. The approach we most frequently use involves in-depth
telephone interviews. Each year Launch Pad interviews hundreds of vice-president
and director-level executives in a wide range of industries and companies and thousands of consumers.

Unlike most surveys, our in-depth interviews do not try to
squeeze your responses into a box. Rather, we strive to understand
the context from which you are answering. Most of our interviews are
comprised of open-ended questions and are conversational in style. While
we may often include fixed-response questions (e.g., Yes or No), we are
equally interested in why you choose a particular response.
We identify
potential participants in many ways but always contact only those whom
we believe are ideally suited to provide insight into an industry or
a product category. Your answers help us advise clients, whether on
product specifications, strategic marketing or campaign tactics.
Scheduling
We schedule interviews at your convenience, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Pacific
Time, Monday through Friday. If these times do not work, we will often
interview during the evening or over the weekend.
Compensation
We recognize that your time is valuable and appreciate your generosity
in helping us help our clients; therefore, we typically send an honorarium
to participants. The amount depends on the length and complexity of
the interview. The check can be made out to you or a charity of your
choosing. Checks are generally sent 8-10 weeks after an interview
is conducted.
Confidentiality
Your responses are kept completely confidential. Unless we have your
explicit permission, you will not be quoted in any public forum. The
report to our client may include a list of companies and the titles
of the persons interviewed, but all responses are aggregated with those
of other participants into tables and charts. Responses are never attributed
to individual companies or persons. We are careful to remind our clients
that you are representing your own opinion and not necessarily that
of your company.
